EADS North America provides state-of-the-art solutions that meet the most demanding homeland security requirements, from the rapid detection of explosives, chemicals, drugs and special nuclear materials to cyber threat training and secure radio networks.
CORP25 is a turnkey P25 radio system for local, countywide, statewide and federal radio networks. It leverages the power of IP and the P25 standard to provide an open standards-based platform for comprehensive solutions.
The CORP25 system works with all P25-compliant base stations and terminals, and it supports the FCC’s mandate for narrowband trunking.
Advantages include cost effective P25 “System of Systems” architecture for city, county, and regional/statewide networks; reliable multi-site, simulcast, and multi-agency configurations; autonomy and control within an interoperable framework; enhanced coverage through a reliable IP simulcast solution; a migration path from P25 conventional to P25 digital trunking; and enhanced reliability through distributed architecture model.
CYNTRS™
The CyberSecurity Network Training Simulator (CYNTRS™) is a customized network security training tool that simulates a full network environment – training operators to recognize and defend the most malicious cyber attacks. Functioning totally independent of the operational network, CYNTRS™ allows high risk activities to be performed, and enables network operators to be exposed to real-life cyber threat situations.
The CYNTRS™ “plug-and-play” attack simulation software replicates scenarios that are based on actual network operations experience. Its “AttackBots” can be updated to reflect the evolution of real attacks and threats over time, allowing simulations to accurately represent the latest operational environment.
CYNTRS’ many uses include: computer network defense training; validation of security processes, procedures, techniques and communications; risk assessments of current computer network and system security, as well as for future system capabilities; development, evaluation and validation of secure architectures; testing and evaluation of new network security, system technology and tools; planning and exercising contingency operations; development and validation of security management, information assurance and network security process and policy; and certification of network security professionals.
LIMS
LIMS is a highly portable system for the detection of explosive threats, chemicals and drugs.
It is designed for personnel and baggage screening in public locations such as airports, train and subway stations, cruise ship departure points – as well as at secure facilities, military sites, prisons and other locations.
LIMS improves upon traditional explosive threat detection systems by utilizing advanced dual-photon laser detection technology. The resulting level of sensitivity and selectivity is equal to the “gold standard” of a dog’s nose. LIMS fully meets U.S. Transportation Security Administration detection requirements for explosive threat detection systems, and unlike some traditional technologies, does not contain a radioactive source.
Applications for the LIMS system include: entry control at airports, buildings, public transportation systems, aboard aircraft and at sensitive sites; inspection of goods, baggage and people; and monitoring a building’s infrastructure, air conditioning system and fire detection.
Neutronics
EADS’ Neutronics concept utilizes EADS SODERN’s Associated Particle Tube Sealed Neutron Generator (APSTNG) technology to identify multiple threats from explosives, chemicals and drugs to special nuclear materials using an active detection technique.
Coupled with high speed electronics and advanced detection algorithms, Neutronics identifies the presence of a threat substance, determines the composition, and localizes it within a target. Neutron interrogation is the only technical approach that enables high-confidence detection of shielded special nuclear materials, with the potential to negate the need for thousands of costly physical inspections every year at airports, seaports and border crossings. Uniquely, EADS’ Neutronics concept offers a flexible configuration and reduced footprint – key operational considerations at busy ports and points of entry.
Neutronics applications include: content scanning for sea containers, air cargo, transport containers and rail cars; inspection of checked luggage and baggage containers; and improvised explosive device (IED) detection.
