EADS North America expands its education scholarship endowment for the Army Aviation Association of America

Arlington, Virginia, April 09, 2008

EADS North America is the largest corporate donor to AAAA’s scholarship program

EADS North America today will make an additional $15,000 contribution to the Army Aviation Association of America’s (AAAA) educational scholarship fund. Today’s contribution builds on the company’s previous donations, totaling $50,000, which established and provides continuing support to the EADS North America Distinguished Scholar Endowment.

This endowment supports worthy candidates selected by the AAAA Scholarship Foundation, Inc. in pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in aerospace or related technical fields. Eligible candidates include AAAA members and their immediate family members.

The company’s combined $65,000 in donations to date has been matched by a $15,000 commitment from the AAAA Scholarship Foundation, bringing the total EADS North America Distinguished Scholar Endowment to $80,000.

“Creating educational opportunities for our warfighters and their families is an important priority for our nation. EADS North America is committed to play its part as a responsible corporate citizen,” said Ralph D. Crosby, Jr., Chairman and CEO of EADS North America. “We’re pleased to once again expand our on-going support for the Army Aviation Association of America’s scholarship program.”

The latest endowment check will be presented today by David R. Oliver, Executive Vice President of EADS North America, during the 2008 AAAA Annual Convention being held at the National Harbor in Maryland.   EADS North America is displaying at this year’s meeting, where the U.S. Army is exhibiting its new UH-72A Lakota Light Utility Helicopter. The Lakota on display is one of 24 UH-72As delivered by EADS North America and deployed at Army installations across the country.   The aircraft on display at AAAA is assigned to Fort Polk, Louisiana.

EADS North America is ramping up UH-72A delivery rates to three aircraft per month as production accelerates at the Mississippi facility of its American Eurocopter business unit. Future Lakotas are slated for delivery to Army National Guard units beginning later this year, and overseas deployments are anticipated for U.S. Army units in Europe and Japan.
